We Gotta Be the Sharpest Golf Players Ever⛳

Hey yall! Hope yall had a fantastic week! This was a busy week, it quite literally flew by haha.

Here's what happened:

Highlights:
-We have officially entered "hurricane season" here on Haida Gwaii. So it should be super windy from now on(we've seen it already haha)
-So much service this week, but SOO many wonderful people and new friends!
-We FINALLY met up with our friends Vince and Stacey again! We helped them build a staircase down to their beach, and finished off with a game of 9 hole golf. I officially suck at golf haha. But we had such a fun time with them! We even got to testify a bit with them! And they want to meet back up soon!
-We met this cool guy Gary yesterday and helped him and his wife out with service, one of the most friendly people I've met out here who isn't a member.
-I'm back in Social Media Work! I'm only a page message responder, not a manager, but still!
-Also we went to another Potlatch! We got to see a lot of Haida Dancing, singing, and storytelling! I didn't understand most of what was said, but it was cool! Plus some great food!

Lowlights:
-The wonderful sunny weather and 70s has disappeared. And now its always windy and 50 :(  winters a comin.
-We have also officially entered "spider season" again. But its much better than last year in Kamloops. Instead of Black Widows, we got Garden Spiders! Still spiders though :(
-We are getting a vehicle replacement at zone conference, so goodbye to the missionary mom van :(

Anyways, I know it's not a lot to update on this week, but regardless, still another Joyful week! Elder Solomon is amazing and we've been working hard!

A simple verse from this week is in 1 Nephi 15:8:
"And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord?"

Its simple, yet profound. Are you having a hard day? Do you have questions? Do you need help? Or even some comfort?

Just ask our Heavenly Father. He wants to hear from you. He wants to help you. Heal you. Guide you. Change you.

All you need to do is ask!

Its simple, but its helped me so many times in my life and especially as a missionary!

With that in mind, have a wonderful week yall! May the Lord bless you with all you need!

Haawa!

One Small Act Can Lead to a Future Miracle!

Hey yall! Hope yall had a great week! It was a great week and some pretty cool things happened! Here's what happened:

Highlights:
-Transfers went smooth, and Elder Solomon arrived with no problems!
-This week was mostly showing Elder Solomon the ropes, introducing him to the members, and our friends!
-Potlatch on Saturday Night!
-We ran into some members who were visiting from Colorado! One of them served here in the Canada Vancouver Mission, and was actually the first missionary to ever open up Burns Lake by Prince George! Super cool to run into them!
-Service Ad Miracle!

Lowlights:
-I was sick all day Monday, but am feeling better today!

The Potlatch: We were invited to come to a Potlatch in Masset on Saturday. A Haida clan was inaugurating a new Chief, and they had this whole celebration. It was super cool to see! They had lots of food, dancing, and drum circles! We got to see a few members, and friends of ours! Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures because they asked us not to.

Service Ad Miracle: Sunday Night, I posted a service ad to see if we could help some more people in the community, and the next morning, it absolutely exploded, even though I was sick, I was able to set up 10 service projects, get LOTS of positive response, and the craziest thing is someone randomly reach out to me, saying that they had a place available to rent! The reason why that's crazy is because here on Haida Gwaii we currently are staying in an Airbnb until we can find a place to rent. So far we haven't had the greatest luck. But this person, Danielle, reached out to me personally about this place, because in the past, missionaries brought her a Bible in Prince Rupert and she and her daughter have been loving it! We were talking, and it turns out that I was that missionary that dropped off the Bible! Super cool, and now we might have place that will ensure missionaries will stay on Haida Gwaii long term!

Anyways, that's all for this week! But I do have some news:

In two weeks, our zone will be traveling all the way to Prince George for a combined Zone Conference. We will be driving there, and it will be a combined 5 day trip. So stay tuned for that!

Have a great week yall!

Where the Blackberry Bushes Grow...

Haawa! Hope yall had a great week. Again, another unusual P-day. We had another funeral to attend to and help with. Sorry for the delay.

It was a great week! A great week to end off the transfer.

This will be a shorter email because its only been like 5 days haha.

To start out, here's transfer news....
I will be staying in Skidegate, on Haida Gwaii! But I am getting a new companion. My new companion is Elder Solomon! He is from New Zealand, and an incredible missionary! Its gonna be a great transfer with him! Sad to say goodbye to Elder Evans though! Best of luck to him in Richmond!

Anyways, here's what happened this week:

Highlights:
-Exchange with Elder Magno!
-We had our first official lesson with our friend Sid who is a Haida Cheif! It went super good!
-Hospital Days! A fun little festival in Daajing Giids! Good hot dogs, and lots of great interactions!
-Picking Blackberrys with Sister Malesku! She is one of our few members, but she is a ton of fun! She has so many blackberry bushes, and we were able to help her pick a bunch of them.
-Zoom actually kinda worked for church! 3 time's the charm! Wonderful talks in Prince Rupert, and a wonderful discussion with our little group!
-Sandspit! We were able to go over to Sandspit on Monday and help a lady stack some wood. It was a great service and interaction!
-Funeral in Skidegate. Our friend Mary Unfortunately lost her daughter this last week, and she invited us to attend her funeral service. It was a wonderful service, and we were able to help at each step of the event. And people really noticed our help, and were very warm and grateful for our service. Death is hard, but the wonderful Atonement of Jesus Christ, can help mend and heal broken families and hearts.

Here's a little miracle we had this week:
-While in Sandspit, we stopped by the golf course to see if the clubhouse was open to talk to some people. We had a tight schedule and a ferry to catch in 15 minutes, so we decided to stay in our service clothes. But when we arrived, both me and Elder Evans felt like we needed to be in church clothes. So we quickly changed and went in. Unfortunately the clubhouse was closed, but we did see some people who immediately recognized us from the distance. We heard them say "its the missionaries". They weren't interested, but they did recognize us for who we are: representatives of Jesus Christ. A cool little miracle. Obedience brings blessings!

Anyways, that's all for this week! I hope yall have a fantastic week! Take care!

The Ferry Naps Hit Hard💤

Hello yall! Hope yall had a great week! Lots happened this week!(Mostly traveling and service haha)

First of all, you're probably wondering why you are getting this on a Friday. We had zone conference on Tuesday so our P-day got pushed back.

Anyways... it was a long week, but here's the rundown:

Highlights:
-Zone Conference in Terrace
-Exchange with Elder Brandon
-Got to visit the Slocombes in Prince Rupert again!
-We attended a Haida Funeral this week, and it was pretty cool
-I took a solid 5 hour nap on the 7 hour ferry😁 absolutely loved it.
-We had church at a members not-finished home. It was quite the experience!
-Kamin got baptized! I wasn't able to see it cause the internet shut down here in Haida Gwaii, but I did get to talk to him for a few minutes! He even said he wants to serve a mission!🥳
-Exchange with Elder Gibbs-Hector in Masset!! It was a great time!
-Pickleball has reached Haida Gwaii, it truly has spread like wildfire.

Lowlights:
-Unfortunately there are over 100 wildfires in British Columbia right now. Everyone please pray for the fires over here🙏

Anyways, that's pretty much it, sorry nothing too exciting. This week was pretty much a blur.

Haida word of the week: Daaw
Means octopus

Scripture of the week:

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
-2 Timothy 1:7

Anyways, hope yall have a great week! And I'll check in with yall next week!

Hot Dogs Truly Bring Happiness🌭🌭

Haawa y'all!

Hope y'all had a great week! This week was incredible!

First, I found out yesterday that my friend Sean that we were teaching in Prince Rupert is getting baptized!!!! So exciting! I wish I could be there!

Second, Kamin who we also taught in Prince Rupert is getting baptized on Saturday!!!! I'll be able to watch it on zoom! So excited for him to enter into the waters of baptism!

Anyways, here's what happened this week!

Highlights:
-Driving on the Beach at Town Hill for P-day!
-Miracle with our friend Sid who is a Haida Chief!
-Spending the weekend with President Gill!
-We had 19 people at church on Sunday!!!! Most were visitors from elsewhere in BC, but still!!!
-I got to see some Kamloops members again! Its been almost a year!
-Ferry Naps(the greatest thing ever haha)

Lowlights:
-Less Sun, more rain. Love it and hate it at the same time haha.

Sid: So let me tell you about Thursday. The entire day EVERYTHING we had planned got canceled, or we got rejected. Not gonna lie, it was tough. But we pressed forward, and felt prompted to stop by Sid's place to see how he was doing. He had just gotten home from an awful day at work, he had totally smashed his finger while working, and the whole day was miserable for him. Since we saw that he was kinda down, we felt prompted to go buy some hot dogs and treat him to dinner. So we did, and he really needed it. He really appreciated it! We even got to share an Incredibly spiritual message with him! Just by trusting that the Lord had a plan EVEN though both us and Sid were having tough days, we were able to still see a miracle, and a tender mercy that day! Hot dogs truly bring happiness!

Visit from President Gill: President Gill flew up this last weekend to see how we were doing and to meet a few people. He didn't bring a car, so we drove him all over, he attended lessons with us, and we saw so many miracles! One of which was in Port Clements.

On the way home on Friday, we were hungry and President Gill wanted to get dinner, so we stopped at the only restaurant in Port Clements, a pub. The second we walked up, 2 guys immediately started talking to us. We had wonderful conversations with them, and one in particular LOVED to talk about Jesus Christ. We gave him a Book of Mormon, and I have never EVER seen someone so sincerely promise to read the Book of Mormon, off the street. It was just incredible.

A wonderful visit from President Gill!

Kamloops Members: On Sunday a bunch of members visited from all over the province. And two of which were the Lambs! They are in the Kamloops 1st ward! I served in the 2nd ward, but I had Thanksgiving with them last year, and it was wonderful to see them again! We had a nice time seeing each other and we even got a picture!

A week full of miracles for sure!

Anyways y'all, that's it for this week! Here is the scripture for this week:

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
-Philippians 4:13

Trust in the Lord and you can overcome anything!

Have a great week y'all!

Chicken Poop Bingo🐓

Haawa!

Sorry the email is late, internet has been down pretty much all day today, so hopefully this sends!

Its been a fast week, we just kinda got to work and grinded haha. Here's the rundown:

Highlights:
-Visiting Sandspit!
-Though we may be in the middle of nowhere, we still can do Family History work🥳
-Church on Sunday! We had a whopping 2 members come!
-Lots and Lots of Service, but we had lots of miracles!
-Vince and Stacey!
-The Tlell Fall Festival!
-Chicken Poop Bingo!

Lowlights:
-Welcome to the rainforest, and as such, it rains, A LOT
-We have to drive at minimum 3-4 hours every day, and it is tiring sometimes haha

Sandspit(South Island): On Thursday, we went over to the South Island, to a small town called Sandspit. Not a whole lot there, but we deemed it the rich people place on Haida Gwaii haha. Some BIG homes over there. We had some good interactions, and in the future we will have some service opportunities!

Sunday Chaos: On Sunday, we had services in Masset(very north tip of Haida Gwaii). We had only 2 members come, and we tried to zoom into the branch over on the mainland, but it wasn't working. It was a chaotic morning, but we ended up having a sweet testimony meeting with these two members that left us all leaving with tears and joy in our hearts. Didn't go as planned, but I guess it did.

Tlell Fall Festival: In a tiny tiny village in our area, they had a big festival that we had the privilege to help set up! We felt prompted the day before the festival to show up and see if they needed help! They ended up really needed help! And that's when we met Vince and Stacey! They were helping set up the festival, and we got talking to them! They are so kind and such funny people to talk to! And now we are going to help them build a treehouse in their backyard and have a Barbecue with them!

One thing Vince showed us at the festival was Chicken Poop Bingo. So pretty much its more gambling than actual bingo. They have a piece of cardboard as the floor of the kennel, and they make bets on where the chicken is going to poop in the kennel😂 everyone was super invested in it and people went  crazy when the chicken pooped😂 It was fun!

The festival was great! Very small town vibe, but the people are so nice! I can't wait to get even more connected with the people out here!

Anyways y'all, that's it for this week! Hope everyone has a great week!

Haawa!

Elders of the Haida Gwaii: The Curse of the Mini-Deer🦌🦌🦌

Haawa y'all!

Simply said, this week has been incredible! Here's what happened:

Highlights:

-We made it over to Haida Gwaii! Its good to be back!
-I didn't get sick on the ferry this time😁
-We have been able to get in contact with a lot of the members here!
-Our apartment is soo nice
-We got to visit the Haida Heritage Center and learn more about the Haida Culture.
-Steven Miracle!
-The Spirit has been SUPER strong this week!
-There are so many deer here and they are all tiny haha. One time driving home we saw 40 of them haha.

Lowlights:
-SOO much travel, I'm exhausted haha.
-It is super rainy here, its a bit sad to not see the sun so much, but I'm doing alright haha.

Haida Gwaii info: Haida Gwaii is an Island 7 hours away from the closest city. There is no branch and only a few members. It is literally the furthest place in the mission you can possibly serve. Its wild haha.

Steven- This is one of the craziest miracles in my ENTIRE mission.

Yesterday we were trying to get in contact with Steven, who the Sisters met a few weeks ago. He expressed interest in having missionaries volunteer at the local Old Folks Home. So we called him, and he didn't answer.

Not even 5 minutes later, he calls us back, which never happens. We talk to him about the volunteering, which went good! He told us he was currently on Vacation repainting his house.

We felt prompted to ask if he needed help painting. After we asked, he broke down into tears and was super grateful that we offered to help him. He told us that he wasn't going to call us back, but something told him to do so.

We then had a good chat with him about helping him, and we hung up.

BUT THEN, he called us back not even 5 minutes later. He tells us he is on the Church Website, trying to create an account. He then tells us that for years he has been super inspired by the members on Haida Gwaii and has felt like this was the church that was right for him. He told us he wanted to join and become a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

So in the upcoming months, there may be a baptism here in Haida Gwaii! We've been here for only 2 days and the Lord is working miracles already!

The Spirit is moving on the people over here!

Anyways, that's it for this week! Not a lot, but still some incredible miracles! God is good, and BC is blessed!

Hope y'all have a blessed week!

Haawa!

🎵Woahhhhh We're Halfway There.....

Hey everyone! Its been a crazy week! So much has happened! So much has changed! Here's what happened:

First of all, remember that super cool island I went to a couple of weeks ago?

Thats my new area haha.

Haida Gwaii ain't done yet haha.

Also it's been 1 year!

Wow

I can't believe it's been that long, but I've been grateful for all the experiences and people I've met!

This week was absolute chaos with transfers and moving missionaries around. It was very very sad to say goodbye to everyone in Prince Rupert. I love that branch so much, and the people we were teaching are amazing! Hopefully I can zoom into Kamin's baptism.

With all of the chaos, I have been everywhere from Prince Rupert, to Terrace, to Smithers, and to Kitimat.

Our apartment on Haida Gwaii doesn't open for another week or so, so we are staying in Kitimat for the time being.

There are 4 of us missionaries going to Haida Gwaii, 2 in the North, and 2 in the South. I am in the south in a place called Skidegate.

My new companion is a dream companion. We have served around each other practically my entire mission and we have really wanted to be companions. My new companion is Elder Evans! He is from just outside Norwich, UK. He is an incredible missionary, and super spiritual!

With this being my year mark, I guess I want to share how my mission has built me up to where I am now.

One thing I have prayed for so much on my mission is to be a successful missionary. And the Lord truly has been helping me with that.

Throughout the highs and the lows of the last year, I have seen myself change, and seen my testimony sour.

I see the lives I have changed, the impacts I have made.

Hitesh
Madi
Wes
Robin
Collin
Kamin

These are only a few, but I am so grateful to be put in the path of all of these people. There lives have been changed, but also, they have changed me.

I am grateful for the wonderful companions I have had, who have supported and helped me to grow and focus on this great work.

Elder Salmon/Bullock
Elder Achal
Elder Walcer
Elder Fitzgarrald/Goth
Elder Gutierrez
Elder Livingston
Elder Evans

I am grateful for the amazing leaders and others who have inspired me and guided me throughout this incredible last year.

I am grateful for the family and friends who have supported me, and brought me strength through every step of this mission.

But most importantly, I am grateful for the Lord. For calling me here, making this all possible. I am grateful for the innumerable miracles and tender mercies he has given. For his loving hand which has led, and supported me as I have labored in his vineyard.

Over this last year I have found a scripture that has been my Anchor, my hope, as I have served:

"Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God."
-Ether 12:4

1 year down

1 year to go

Let's see what amazing miracles the Lord will provide to all of us :)

Everyone have an amazing week! And let's see what this next year brings!

Haawa!

-Elder Biesinger

P.S: With going to Haida Gwaii I will be actively learning the Haida Language :)

Pictures!!! Sorry not too many this week

Miracles in the Great Canadian North!🇨🇦

Hey Y'all! Its been an incredible week up here in the Great Canadian North! Here's what happened:

Highlights:
-Waterfall Hike, and spikeball on a beach for P-day! The mist of the waterfall soaked us haha.
-Exchange with Elder Wilkerson in Kitimat! Elder Wilkerson is an incredible elder and it was a fun exchange!
-Brick Oven Pizzas for District Council! A member let us use their Pizza oven for District Council!
-Terrace Finding Blitz: After District Council we had a quick 2 hour blitz in Terrace! We didn't find too many new people but we had lots of great contacts and gave out lots of flyers!
Exchange with Elder Ramage in Terrace! Elder Ramage goes home from his mission today, so it was a good final hurrah of an exchange with him! We watched some locals play cricket and played some Volleyball with them!
-Frozen Cherries are my new favorite frozen treat🍒
-Miracle game night with Wes!
-Crazy Miracle with our friend Kamin!

Lowlights:
-Three missionaries in our zone, Elder Ramage, Elder Stock, and Sister Smith are all finishing their missions today. These Elders and Sisters are exceptional missionaries and will be missed!
-We don't get transfer news until tomorrow, so next week we will have to see what happens! I think me and Elder Livingston will probably stay together.

Game Night with Wes: Wes is an inactive member, and we have been trying to get to know him! On Friday, our 3 lessons we had with our friends canceled, and another 2 canceled on Saturday. It was rough, but on Saturday night, we felt impressed to invite Wes to come play a game with us at the church. It was kind of a random text, but he came! And we had a blast! It was truly an incredible miracle after a tough few days!

Kamin: Our friend Kamin is on date to be Baptized next month!🥳 We are so excited for him! He has come a long way, and I have never seen someone so dedicated to finding the truth! We had a lesson with him after church on Sunday, and the spirit was like no other! He has a super strong testimony already, especially about the Holy Ghost! We are excited to help him take this next step towards our Heavenly Father!

Anyways, that's all for this week! We will have to see what happens with transfers! Have a great week y'all!

-Elder Biesinger

And don't worry, I got lots of pictures this week haha

Back To Vancouver(Again)✈

Hello everyone! I know I say this a lot but the weeks are FLYING haha. Anyways here's what happened:

Highlights:
- P-day last week was dope, We just relaxed down at the dock in the sun. Got to work on my tan a bit haha
- I totally had an angry homeless guy bash me on the street this week haha
- Tracting Miracle!
- We went to Vancouver for mission leadership conference(again) for a few days, and this time we stayed in Surrey🥳 Great to see a bit of my last area!
- Mission Leadership Conference was sick! Fun to see a bunch of missionaries and learn and Council a lot! Plus a great lunch haha.
- I am FINALLY not a teenager anymore haha.
- Crab Trap Miracles!
- I FINALLY saw a bear up here! A momma and 3 cubs! Sadly no picture though...
- Our friend Kamin came to church this week and LOVED it! It was his first time ever going to a church and it was a great experience for him! He even participated in Elders Quorum which was awesome!
- One of our friends gave us a whole fresh Salmon, so we gonna be eating good the next few days😋
- Exchange and P-day in Kitimat! Its cool to see Kitimat its a small town and has a whopping 2 active members.

Lowlights:
- With transfers coming up, I've had to started to say goodbye to a lot of missionaries I have grown to love. We are losing around 40 missionaries this next transfer, it is sad to see them all go.

Tracting Miracle:
Me and Elder Livingston decided to tract the nicest neighborhood in all of Prince Rupert, and we had a cool miracle! First we got SUPER rejected, slammed doors, people not home, etc, etc. So we were heading back to our car, and Elder Livingston was kinda down, and said that people in rich neighborhoods have too hard of hearts. BUT... just at that moment, a car pulled into the house we were about to walk by, and the guy got out of the car, so we went up to talk to him. He was SUPER kind and told us he really respected us and what we were doing and told us about a local pickleball club! So later in the week we showed up to the club and met SO MANY people who were super kind with us! Definitely a cool miracle from tracting!

Crab Trap Miracles:
On Saturday we pulled up our crab trap with a member! But as we went to the dock, we met one of our friends who we couldn't get a hold of, and 2 inactive members in the space of like 10 minutes! We hadn't seen all these people in like 3 weeks! God really did put them in our path! We are now in contact with ALL 3 of them! God is good!

Anyways, that's all for this week! Sorry it's not as exciting as Haida Gwaii haha, but there are some pretty exciting things coming up this week! So stay tuned!

-Elder Biesinger

Pictures! Sorry I realized I barely took any this week😬

-I did get a little seasick on the ferry to Haida Gwaii haha

Alright heres what happened on Haida Gwaii:
SO MANY MIRACLES
God is so good!
Here's what happened:

-We had a wonderful zone conference on the ferry to Haida Gwaii(6 1/2 hour ferry)... until everyone got seasick haha. It was a pretty rocky journey.

-We had dinner with a local Haida chief Sid Crosby! He loves the church and the Book of Mormon!

-The Island is SO BEAUTIFUL! I am not kidding I took way too many pictures haha

-I went on Exchange with Elder McCreadie the first full day! We went to Port Clements and Masset! We got in contact with a few members! We got to also have a sacrament service in Masset! A few members came including a few visiting from Alberta! It was a super spiritual meeting! It was amazing to meet the members and to hear their stories! We also found a possible church building to use on Masset!

-We got to go to a few beaches too and saw a few shipwrecks!

-The second day we spent in Skidegate and Daajing Giids! We did a bunch of service for people and made a few friends! We also went to a Heritage Center and talked with people and learned more about the Haida People! We also met a member who broke into tears when she saw us missionaries, she hadn't had much hope left, but seeing us brought that hope back!

-We had another sacrament service in Skidegate and it was SO SPIRITUAL! The testimonies were so pure and we all were left in tears! The Lord is truly moving the people over in Haida Gwaii!

-It was so sad to say Howáa(see you again) and depart back to our areas. My testimony was strengthened so much while we were there!

Definitely an experience I will not forget! I met so many amazing people, saw so many miracles, and grew so much closer with the missionaries in the zone!

Anyways, Howáa for now! Thats all for this week! Enjoy the pictures!

God is good!

Miracles have not ceased!

-Elder Biesinger

💥Let's Go Out With A Bang💥

Well everyone this is it. A week to go. Crazy how the time flies. But I wouldn't take back any of it. The last two years have been li...
