Let's Do This One More Time😎

Hey everyone! Been a busy week. Hard to believe I only have 5 weeks to go. Time really does fly. However, I'm excited to see what comes in the next few weeks.

Lots happened this last week, including the news of what's happening my last transfer. I am staying in the Fraser Valley YSA. I'm so glad I'm staying, it's one of my favorite areas, and its been really nice to get good advice from members. Lots of them served missions and recently even returned home. I feel like its gonna help me adjust when I return home.

As for companion, I'm ending off with training a new missionary! I was so excited to get the call to do so, last time I trained a new Elder it was really hard, and I felt like I hadn't quite left my footprint on the mission. But I now get another opportunity!

My new companion is Elder Smith! He's from Edmonton Alberta and he's awesome! You cant even tell he's brand new. He's a lot of fun, and he's super diligent. Hes very spiritual and excited to work!

It's going to be a good last ride, I'm excited for this opportunity to serve the Lord, and to finish the call which was extended to me over 2 years ago.

But anyways, here's an update for the week:

Highlights:
-Had a sweet lesson in McDonald's with our new friend Jay! It was before transfers, but he's such a great guy, and we can't wait to start working with him!
-Elder Smith's first lesson was awesome! We were teaching Ethan, Niko, and Tianna(Our new member and his friends) and the Spirit was super strong! The Lesson went great and it was a real confidence booster for Elder Smith!
-We also got to go back out to Chilliwack! We did our studies out there one morning, and we ran into some members from Burnaby! Super cool running into them and hearing their brief testimonies!
-Weather has been so nice, so we've been outside a lot! It's been nice to say goodbye to the rain and to have met some new people!
-It's honestly been so fun being with Elder Smith, he's a fun guy and we get along great! He has a strong testimony, and we've been able to work together great so far!

It was sad to say goodbye to the trio, but they didn't go too far so I will get to see them around on occasion.

Anyways, that's all for this week! I'm excited for the Miracles that will come in the next few weeks!

Haawa!

Hey everyone! This week absolutely flew by! Not a whole lot happened, but here's what happened:

Highlights:
-We turned into a trio. An Elder in our Zone got his Visa to Chile so his companion Elder Hulse is with us for week! It's been a lot of fun. It is funny though, both him and Elder Hirst are Spanish Speaking so at times they will fully be speaking Spanish and I'm just the clueless English speaking Elder haha. It's been fun! We even worked with Elder Galay again for a few days so we were a Quad. It was a lot of fun!
-We had interviews with our mission president! It was really brief, but really good. Definitely looking forward to these last few weeks!
-With us in a trio, it also means that we temporarily cover a 2nd area as well, so we've been super busy. But we've seen some cool Miracles! I may not speak Spanish, but it's cool to see how Spanish work looks like!
-We had 3 member meals this week, for a YSA that's incredible!
-On Sunday I got to say goodbye to Elder Salmon, he returns home this week. It was a sad goodbye, but I'll get to see him again eventually. We got to trade ties too so that was pretty sweet.
-On Sunday we got to go to Vancouver again for yet another Baptismal Interview! Its been cool to see Vancouver a bit more, I haven't really spent much time there. I also got to see Elder Livingston again which was pretty sweet!
-For weekly planning this week, we were praying for where to go do it, and we felt inspired to go to the Chilliwack airport. It was super random, but we heeded the prompting. I'll be honest, I think Haida Gwaii had a bigger airport, it was super tiny, but we found a place to do our planning. After we finished we were about to leave, and we ran into an inactive member. She was shocked that missionaries were at an airport. However, we had a really good discussion with her, and the Spirit was very strong. It was a pretty cool experience.

Anyways, for the spiritual thought this week I'll keep it brief:

I've been thinking a lot about the power of prayer, and how it can help us connect with God personally, but also together. This week I studied President Holland's most recent talk and I had a few thoughts from my read:

1. Prayers are always heard. Even when we feel like they aren't being answered, they are heard, and they are answered according to the Gods will.
2. God knows the perfect way to answer our prayers. It may not be answered the way we want it too, but it will be answered in the perfect way for us to grow and become more like our Heavenly Father.
3. Even when we feel like we can do everything on our own, we can't. We need God in our lives. And when we have that humility, we can always see his hand in our lives!

Prayer is so special. I know it has helped me throughout my life. It is constantly solidifying my testimony, and helps to bring me closer to God.

I invite you all to ponder on how you can more access the power that comes through prayer, in whatever form that may be. I promise as you do so that you will be able to see the power of prayer more visibly and more powerfully in your life!

Anyways, that's all I got this week! We will get transfer news on Thursday, so we will see what will happen for my last transfer! Have a great week everyone!

🏔️Mountains to Climb🏔️

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a great week! It's crazy how fast the weeks fly now.

This week was super busy, we had 3 exchanges, and travelled a lot. But here's what happened:

Highlights:
-Exchange with Elder Armstrong! Elder Armstrong is a Spanish Elder, who is also my District Leader. We had a good time on our exchange, we taught very well together, I definitely learned a lot from him. He's a very mature missionary and very diligent! It was a great exchange!
-Exchange with Elder Jessop! Elder Jessop is a missionary I've only met a few times, so it was good to get to know him on exchange! We both were companions with Elder Court so it was fun to share memories we had with him. We went out to Hope on our exchange. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time there! Not a whole lot of people there, but a beautiful spot of BC.
-Running it back with Elder Walcer! We went on exchange this week and it was so fun! Elder Walcer was my longest companion and we haven't really been able to work together since then. That would have been 14 months ago. So it was really cool to see how we had grown since then. We had some cool experiences, and quite a few opportunities to share the gospel! We met a guy in Surrey named Ken who challenged us to a ping pong match. We ended up talking with him about the Gospel for 30 minutes before we even began the match haha. We gave him a Book of Mormon and we are so excited for the Vancouver Elders to start teaching him! But for the Ping Pong, he destroyed the both of us haha. We didn't even stand a chance. We also had a cool experience when we tried knocking on a door of someone who had previously been taught, and met the guy Richard. He wasn't too interested, but he had some great questions, and that warmed him up. We shared a quick message with him, and we hope to see him again! It was pretty cool!

Otherwise everything else this week was pretty normal, nothing else too exciting. But this week we are pretty busy so it will be good!

As for a spiritual thought, what I have been teaching a lot this week is the Doctrine of Christ with the Analogy of climbing a Mountain.

As you know, the Doctrine of Christ includes Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.

In this Analogy, we compare the doctrine to climbing a Mountain. We start with Faith in Jesus Christ. This is the desire we have to climb a mountain. We know that it isn't going to be easy, and it could be very dangerous. But we follow that desire, and act on it. We start our journey up the mountain, following the map(Jesus Christ) as we make the ascent.

However, we all make mistakes, so sometimes we trip and fall, or wander off the path. However, when we turn back to the map(Jesus Christ) we can get back up, and find our way back to the path. This is Repentance.

When we get to a certain point of the journey, we hit a checkpoint, or the point where we are committed. There's no going back. This commitment to finishing the climb, are Covenants. They connect us with the journey, and give us the motivation we need to keep going. The first Covenant is Baptism, and then we have other Covenants we make as we continue on the Covenant path. It's kind of like when you climb Mount Everest, and there are different camps, or checkpoints. Each one allow us to commit ourselves further towards finishing the climb.

Once we make this first checkpoint(Baptism) the path gets more treacherous. We need more help. So we get a guide, who is expert in the climb, and can help us each step of the way. This is the Gift of the Holy Ghost. We have this personal guide who can help us up this treacherous path.

After that, we continue with what we have learned. We continue to exercise our faith in Jesus Christ(Keep moving forward), Repent when we fall down or get lost, focus on the commitments(Covenants) we make with God, and listen to the Holy Ghost who guides us up the mountain. However, throughout the way, we can always turn to the map(Jesus Christ). All of this is enduring the the end. A growing process that takes us to the Summit.

As much as we want to take a Helicopter to the Summit, or just get to Heaven, that's not the point. We came here to learn, to grow, and to experience the climb. It is hard, but it is so worth it!

While I haven't had much experience with climbing mountain, I know from other experiences, that the grinding journey is always worth it. You learn so much, and the fulfilment is so much better.

I would invite each of you to study Elder Renlund's most recent General Conference Talk The Powerful, Virtuous Cycle of the Doctrine of Christ. It helps us to understand that we are on this climb, but we need to keep going! I promise as you do so, the Holy Ghost will bring to mind the things you need to hear, to give you guidance and direction in your life, as you climb this mountain!

I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Anyways, I hope you all have a blessed week! Take care!

-Elder Biesinger

Pictures! I totally forgot to take pictures this week haha, but here's a few from my exchange with Elder Walcer!

Protect Your Peace!

Happy June everyone! Hope everyone is well. Not a whole lot to update on this week, but here's what I got:

Highlights:
-We got to go to Chilliwack Thursday and Saturday this week, got to meet with some cool members, definitely the most beautiful part of the area(except the Temple of course)
-We also made it over to Coquitlam this week. It's been super cool, we've been out there more this transfer and it's a great part of the mission!
-Goodbye Bryce. I'm not sure if y'all remember, but our friend Bryce has been on Baptismal Date for awhile now, but this week we found out he moved out to Vancouver, so we had to pass him off to the Vancouver YSA Elders. It was a bit sad, but we got permission to go to Vancouver on Sunday to introduce him to the YSA. He really connected well with the YSA, and he even got to meet with our Mission President. He's still progressing towards Baptism and I'm so excited for him! He's such a great example of Christlike love, I'm so glad I got to meet him!
-So much driving this week, we were all over the area, and we even went out to Vancouver twice for some meetings. Glad I get a bit of a break today haha.

Lowlights:
-It was pouring rain pretty much all week. But in good news it's gonna get super warm this upcoming week!

Spiritual thought: We met with a member named Connor this week in Chilliwack. He's awesome. We had a great discussion on the importance of taking upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ, and using the enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. One thing that Connor said that stuck out to me and Elder Hirst was when opposition came in Connor's life, he always told himself to stick to the Covenant Path in order to protect his peace.

Me and Elder Hirst got thinking about that for a minute. It's pretty cool to think that 1. Peace comes through Jesus Christ, but it's a peace that is different from the world:

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
-John 14:27

And when we have this kind of peace, it is enduring, and brings us closer to our Heavenly Father. 2. When we put on the armour of God, and build our foundation on the rock of Jesus Christ, we protect ourselves from the storms of opposition. We are in effect, protecting our peace.

But when it comes to the peace of the Gospel, it's much more than just personal peace, it's a peace that we need to guide others to. This is where Charity enters the picture. I'm reminded of a quote by Elder Uchtdorf:

"There is something interesting, almost paradoxical, about this path you’ve chosen: the only way for you to progress in your gospel adventure is to help others progress as well. To help others is the path of discipleship. Faith, hope, love, compassion, and service refine us as disciples."
-Elder Uchtdorf

When we bring others to the peace that Christ offers, we ourselves strengthen our connection to the Prince of Peace! With Christlike love, we can bring this to everyone!

Christlike love is an enduring feeling which properties can change the course of any event, and inevitably disables the attacks of the Adversary.

If any of you can understand this rant of mine, I urge you to seek to protect the peace in your life, to more secure yourself to the Prince of Peace. I also urge you to not only secure yourself more to Him, but to help others to secure themselves as well. I promise that as you do so, that you will be able to see the promises in Helaman 5:12 happen in your lives and the lives of those around you:

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
-Helaman 5:12

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Anyways, have a good week everyone!

Speaking in Front of Half the Mission? No Biggie.

Alright everyone, it's been a crazy week. And by crazy, I mean absolutely crazy.

It was mostly crazy with preparations for the Mission Tour and with everything that happened at the mission tour. So get some popcorn, this might be a long one....

Highlights:
-It was a great week for institute. We had some non-members show up and the discussions were just fantastic.
-We went out to Mission and got to go to a cool Diner to get some milkshakes. It was pretty fun!
-Bob Ross Paint Night part 2. It was a ton of fun, however my painting looks pretty bad haha.
-We had a record high of 144 people at church this Sunday! It was absolutely crazy. We only had one friend, but it was still pretty cool.
-We started to teach our new friend Satya this week! He's pretty cool! He came to church and we had a great lesson on prayer afterwards!
-Mission Tour with President Bragg!
-Companion Study with President and Sister Bragg!

Alright here's the crazy stuff that happened:

The Mission Tour was split into two days, one for half the mission, and one for the other half of the mission. They both happened in Langley, and because we live 5 min away, we were in charge of quite a bit. It all went pretty smooth, but as you know, nothing ever goes according to plan.

The night before our Mission Tour(The first day) we had 6 other Elders stay at our place. We got home at 9pm and started to get ready for bed. At 9:20ish we get a call from our Mission President. He says he's 5 minutes from our apartment and asked if he could come by. We were confused why since it was past 9 and he lives an hour away. So we changed and waited for him to come.

He did the inspection and all went well, and then he told me and Elder Hirst that President and Sister Bragg asked to do a Companion Study Wednesday Morning with us at our apartment. Pretty nerve wracking but we were glad we cleaned our apartment well.

The next morning we were up early and at the church setting up for the meeting. Everything went smoothly.

The actual meeting was fantastic. I have lots of notes, but what stuck out to me and my companion, was that we needed to improve our companion studies. Kind of random, but we talked about it afterwards and started to Brainstorm ideas.

We had Mission Leadership Council after the Mission Tour with President Bragg. It was incredible and the Spirit was so strong. It was a wonderful day, and I still have much to ponder and study about.

This morning President and Sister Bragg arrived at our place early and we had companion study with them. We told them about our impression to improve our studies. We then had a Spirit filled and led discussion, and we all learned much. At the end of the meeting, President Bragg invited me and Elder Hirst to accompany them to the 2nd Mission Tour and briefly speak to everyone about our experience.

So this morning, a very nervous Elder Biesinger and Elder Hirst spoke in front of half the mission on the spot.

But it was really good, we were able to testify how the Spirit had inspired us to change and the Joy we felt as we acted on that. It was definitely a nerve-wracking experience, but one I won't forget.

Anyways that's the week. Crazy eh? A good crazy though. I can just bear witness that even though life gets crazy sometimes, and things don't go to plan, that God is always there for us and we can truly accomplish whatsoever thing He commandeth us to do!

Have a great week everyone! Take care!

"The Lord Will Heal the Stroke of Our Wound."

Hey everyone! What a week it has been! It flew by. Here's a quick update on what happened:

Highlights:
-Thursday was so busy, we had some service and lessons all around our area. It was a bit chaotic, but I'll tell ya I slept so good that night!
-Mission Leadership Council! I always love MLC, it's such a great opportunity to receive revelation and to see the direction the mission is going!

Lowlights:
-I battled a bit of sickness this week, but I'm survivin!

Also, just so y'all know, next week my Preperation Day will be on Wednesday. Next Tuesday Elder Bragg of the Seventy will be visiting our mission, so we will be having a Mission Tour and MLC with him! I'm super excited! It's going to be awesome!

Spiritual Thought:

This week I was reading in Isaiah. He's super hard to understand, but there were some verses in Isaiah 30 that stuck out to me:

"Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant." - Verse 13

"Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound." - Verse 26

When I read this I was reminded of a dam, and how when a dam cracks, the water comes rushing out.

I feel like that's how it can feel for us sometimes, sometimes we feel like too much damage has been done, and that we can't come back. However we know that though Jesus Christ, we can make it back. As it says in Verse 26, he will bind(or seal) the breach and heal the wound.

Its a very hopeful message that the Atonement of Jesus Christ reaches all people, regardless of what we have done, and the damage that has happened.

Anyways, that's it for this week! Have a great week everyone!

Take Two in the Fraser Valley YSA

Hey everyone! Apologies for not sending an email last week, but I'll update y'all on what happened. It's been a busy few weeks, here's what happened:

Highlights:
-Me and Elder Salmon got to see Mook again! (member from Haida Gwaii) She was so excited to see us and we had a fantastic lesson with her!
-Last Tuesday we were able to go to the Temple! It was a very uplifting experience, and I got to say goodbye to some missionaries who were heading home the next day, so that was awesome.
-We got to visit a very far part of our area. Hope BC. It's a small town past Chiliwack. We had some pretty cool Miracles while we were there. It was a beautiful day and very warm(It made me very happy haha) We also ran into some YSA from Surrey that don't come to the YSA so we talked with them for a bit and invited them to come! Following that, we got bashed by a homeless guy named Milton haha.
-We got to go with Ethan to the Temple for his first time! It was awesome! The spirit was so strong and Ethan absolutely loved it! Its so cool to see someone we teach not only get Baptized, but be able to go to the Temple as well!
-Transfers! Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to Elder Salmon. It was a fun transfer, but he is heading over to the Family Ward here in Langley. So I'll still get to see him everyone once and a while, which is nice. My new companion is Elder Hirst. He came out of Spanish work, which is pretty cool. He is also from England. We seem to be having a good time together so far which is pretty sweet. Glad I'm still in the Fraser Valley YSA, such a great Branch and I love the people here!
-Emmanuel got Baptized! It was so incredible to see him get Baptized and Confirmed! I've never seen him smile so much! He was so joyful! We are excited to help him work towards the Temple!
-Our friend Bryce came to church and we were able to have a super spiritual lesson with him afterwards! He is really pushing on preparing himself to be Baptized, so we are excited to keep working with him on that!

Anyways, that's pretty much it for the week, hope everyone has a great week! Talk to y'all next week!

Exchanges, exchanges, exchanges

Hey yall! Crazy another week flew by! We've been super busy here in the YSA, so here's a quick update on what happened this week:

Highlights:

-Exchange with Elder Witt in Vancouver YSA!

-Exchange with Elder Schierlman!

-Julio's Baptism! His Baptism was so sweet and he was so cheerful the whole time! Definitely a day to remember!

-We actually have 2 more exchanges this upcoming week haha. A busy few weeks!

-Stake Conference in Abbotsford! It was a great Stake Conference! A huge focus on the Temple, and we even got to teach our new friends Daniil at Anita after! They are from Estonia, so that's pretty cool! They are super awesome and have totally been prepared to hear the Gospel!

-We are super excited for our friend Emmanuel who will be getting Baptized this Saturday!!!

Exchange with Elder Witt in Vancouver: I finally made it to Vancouver for a day! Me and Elder Witt had a fantastic exchange, and saw so many Miracles! We went over to the University of British Columbia and talked to quite a few people and gave a few Book of Mormons out! We also had the opportunity to go Street Contacting in Downtown Vancouver in the pouring rain. I mean it was absolutely bucketing. We were soaked by the end, but some good memories and some great conversations! I learned so much from Elder Witt, a big one was diligence. We worked super hard on our exchange and we were able to see some pretty cool Miracles!

Exchange with Elder Schierlman: It was a blast doing another exchange with Elder Schierlman! This time we were in my area. We went over to Surrey and had some pretty cool conversations with some people. One guy we met was Kim. He moved from Korea a few years ago, and gave us Coconut water with pulp. It was very disgusting but we chugged it down anyways haha. We are hoping he gets to meet the Korean missionaries soon! We then went to a members place for dinner and they fed us steak so it all worked out haha. But nonetheless, a great exchange with Elder Schierlman!

Anyways, here's a talk for you all to listen to or read this week: He Will Place You on His Shoulders and Carry You Home-Elder Uchtdorf.

Anyways, have a great week everyone! Keep looking for the Miracles and the little tender mercies that the Lord gives to us each day!

Miracles Have Not Ceased!

Hey everyone! Another week has passed! It literally felt like P-day was like 2 days ago. It goes so fast! Here's a quick update on what happened:

Highlights:

-Lower Mainland Zone Conference!

-We had a stellar lesson with our friend Bryce this week! Such a spiritual lesson, and he accepted the invitation to be Baptized on May 11th! Super pumped for him! He's such a great guy!

-Exchange with Elder Chapman!

-Ethan's Baptism! It was such a good Baptism! So many YSA showed up and supported him! Ethan said that his Baptism and Confirmation felt 'powerful'. It was so special to see him change over the last few weeks and grow so much closer to God!

-Julio's good to go for next week for his Baptism! We are so excited for him! He is so pumped for Saturday!

-We met our new friend Calvin at Soccer yesterday! We briefly taught him about the Book of Mormon and Baptism, and he was down to meet up! Can't wait to start working with him!

-It's FINALLY warm! The sun is out almost every day and it's now in the 60s every day. I was so tired of the winter, but now it's gonna be great weather for the rest of my mission!

Anyways, me and Elder Salmon have been grinding this week. We have been teaching lots, and really getting to know the YSA here in the Fraser Valley! It's been such a great time, and the Lord has blessed us much! Miracles are being seen!

Anyways, I got to get going, but I hope yall have a great week! Stay tuned! Great things are coming!

Rooting Ourselves to the Savior

Hey yall! It's been a fantastic week! Miracles are happening in the YSA! Here's what happened:

Highlights:

-Exchange with Elder Schierlman in Willoughby Ward! We met some cool people on the street and even found someone new for the Elders to teach!

-MLC in Richmond!

-We had the wonderful opportunity to go to 2 Baptisms this week! One in Abbotsford and one in the YSA! They both were super spiritual, and our new friend Junior even came to the one in Abbotsford! He loved it and we hope to teach him a bit more this week!

-We met our new friend Emmanuel! He was taught by Sisters over in Surrey, but he wants to be Baptized in the YSA! We are excited to work with him and help him to prepare for his Baptism next week!

-We are so excited for our friend Ethan's Baptism this Saturday! He is a legend and he is so excited for his Baptism! It was wonderful to meet with him this week and hear him testify of how he has found peace through meeting with us and growing closer to Jesus Christ!

-Our friend Julio is also super excited for his Baptism next week! It has been incredible to see the change in him over these last few weeks!

-Golden Referral: On Sunday, Sisters in Coquitlam sent us a Referal named Natthan. We immediately called him and ended up having a 15min call/lesson with him! He plans to come to institute this week and wants to talk to us about Baptism! We are so excited to meet Natthan and start working with him!

MLC: It was such a good MLC, I learned so much. One thing I loved was we were able to do a study of Jacob 5. We focused on the "roots" and how when we root ourselves to Jesus Christ we can get the nourishment we need to grow and bring forth good fruit. I have always loved Zenos' allegory of the olive trees. Not only does it show the plan of Salvation, but it shows our own individual mortal experience as well as the love that God has for us! Sometimes He has to prune us back and we may not understand why we are going through the trials we go through. But He sees beyond the present and sees how these trials shape us into something greater, something Celestial! It also shows that when we root ourselves to the Savior, we are able to grow little by little into our divine potential!

Anyways, that's all for this week! Hope yall have a blessed week and I'll talk to y'all next week!

💥Let's Go Out With A Bang💥

Well everyone this is it. A week to go. Crazy how the time flies. But I wouldn't take back any of it. The last two years have been li...
