Hello Blackout Year!

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful New Years! Hope yall were safe! Not a whole lot happened this week, but I'm excited to tell yall about it!

Also, a blackout year, is what us missionaries call the year where you are on your mission for the entirety of it.

Highlights:

-District Council with the Zone Leaders & STLs!

-We completed all the lessons with Madi and her Baptism is 2 weeks away!

-New Years eve with the Van Horns!

-Had my first ever Non-Member meal with Madi & her family and it went really well!

Lowlights:

-Nothing exceptionally low, just not too many super exciting things happened this week.

This week was a lot of work with the Social Media responsibility that me and Elder Walcer now have. Just figuring out scheduling and assignments for the english social media work here in the mission.

New Years Eve was fun though! We got to go to the Van Horns for the afternoon and dinner! We got to play some card games with the kids and roasted hot dogs over a campfire!

Also, remember how I've been complaining about the snow for last couple of weeks? Well its ALL GONE. Now we just have fog and rain, feels like Autumn is still here haha. Guess shoveling driveways is off the table...

One interesting thing that did happen this week is we texted a member named Sister Whalen one morning to see if we could do a lesson with her later that day. Sister Whalen is the only member in her family. Her husband is inactive and she has a son that has Schizophrenia, so life is pretty tough for her.

She responded back to us and said she could. But told us her son dreamt the night before that we were coming by at 6. And usually her son doesnt like when we come over. So we knew we needed to come by. We stopped by and had a wonderful lesson, and brought the spirit into their home. Nothing major happened, but it's really cool to see how we can help others just by helping to bring the spirit in.
