Hello everyone! This week was amazing! So much happened! Excited to tell y'all about it! So much happened, so I'm gonna give y'all a day by day update:
Tuesday:
-We went bowling as a district! It was so much fun! Not used to 5 pin bowling, but still a great time!
-We also played Volleyball
Wednesday:
-Final district council of the transfer! It was super spiritual and really shows how close we get as a district.
Thursday:
-Transfers!
We got transfer news on Thursday, and I found out that I am being
transferred to Prince Rupert! Prince Rupert is a very small town in
North British Columbia up very close to Alaska! It has a branch of about
25 active members and covers a massive Island called Haida Gwaii!
-My
new companion is Elder Livingston! He is from Pleasant Grove, Utah! He
is amazing! I have met him a few times, and I'm excited to be companions
with him in Prince Rupert!
-We had some member appointments and said goodbye to some friends!
-We also had Institute which was amazing!
Now the chaos begins haha
Friday:
-At
6AM I was on the road to the airport, and landed in Terrace BC at
around 10:30! Me and Elder Livingston then had District Council with my
new district! There are 10 of us missionaries and that's our zone! It is
small, but such an amazing district!
-My MTC companion Elder Salmon is in my district! It was so good to see him again!
-After
District Council, we took the 2 hour drive over to Prince Rupert! It
was STUNNING! I wish the pictures I took were good, thankfully we take
this road weekly haha.
-One we got to Prince Rupert, we
immediately went and did service at an Animal Hospital! We got to see so
much wildlife! We also got to do a bit of Animal Rescuing for a baby
deer!
-There are also Bald Eagles flying EVERYWHERE up here haha I see like 30 a day.
Saturday:
-SEAFEST!
This massive festival happens once a year here in Prince Rupert and it
so happened to be the day after I arrived! They had a massive parade,
shops, sports tournaments, a crab eating contest, and more! It was fun
to meet people from all over Northern BC!
-We then had lunch at a members where we ate crab that was caught the day before🦀
-After
lunch, that same member took us crab fishing at the pier! I didn't do
much haha, but it was fun to see all the crabs! We even got one in our
freezer for a later meal!
Sunday:
-Our
church building is the size of probably a relief society room in a Utah
Stake Center haha. Its so small, but super cool! We were able to have
our friend Adam come to church too!
-We had a whopping 26 people total at church this Sunday(including members)
-We then went to the dock(called Cow Bay) and did some finding!
-We had dinner at a members house and had fresh Salmon😋
Monday:
-We
did lots of lessons today! We saw our friends Brianna and her family,
and Shaun! The people here in Prince Rupert are so nice!
-We also helped build a retaining wall for our Branch President so I'm a bit sore haha
Its
been a blast of a week! It is sad to leave Surrey, I will deeply miss
the members and the friends I made there. I hope I can go back sometime
in my mission. It was sad to say goodbye to Elder Gutierrez! It was a
super fun transfer and I learned so much from him!
This
upcoming week will be busy! Me and my companion will be traveling back
to Vancouver for a meeting with other missionaries from around the
mission, so that will be awesome!
Also stay
tuned, in a few weeks, our whole zone, plus our mission president, are
going to Haida Gwaii(The Island in my area) for a few days!
Well everyone, that's it for this week! Y'all have a wonderful week! Take care!
