Hello everyone! This week was CRAZY! So much happened! Here's what happened:
Highlights:
-Reunion
with the North Island Elders! Got to see Elders Achal, Hester,
Gibbs-Hector, Goncalves, Brackett, and Michelson! Great to see a bunch
of the Elders I have spent a lot of my mission around!
-Exchange
with Elder Nelson! We went street contacting in Downtown Surrey &
even took the Skytrain! It was an amazing experience!
-We went
to a Private Pentecostal school, and taught a 11th Grade class about
the Church! I was nervous but it was actually really good!
-MIRACLE with our friend Colin!
-I got a really short haircut and everyone says I look like a marine now haha
BIG
NEWS: This week, me and Elder Fitzgarrald got another companion, Elder
Goth! Elder Goth went home about 2 transfers ago, and is back! It has
been a ton of fun being in a trio again! Elder Goth is amazing and we
all work so well together!
-Ig the mission is making me like sushi haha. We went to a fancy Sushi place with the APs for lunch haha.
-Elijah!
-Sacrament Meeting Talk Miracle!
-Ward Potluck after church!
-Guess
putting together trampolines before the mission came in clutch haha.
Yesterday we did a service where we put together a trampoline haha.
-We are going to the temple today!
Lowlights:
-Because
of a Bird Flu that is going around, Canada isn't selling any Balut at
the moment, so we weren't able to try it this week...(Part of me is
happy haha)
-A missionary in my district went home this week,
was super sad, but also good. They knew it was what the Lord wanted for
them, so it was bittersweet.
Colin: Colin is
our most progressing friend, and we had an incredible lesson with him
this week! Colin brought his neighbor over to join our lesson with him
because she wasn't doing well. His friend, Ya Li, speaks little to no
English, so we had to have Colin translate everything we said. What was
so incredible about the lesson, is that we were able to help give hope
to Ya Li! AND, because of the language barrier, me & Elder
Fitzgarrald could tell that Colin was saying more to Ya Li than just
translating. He was testifying of Jesus Christ, and how the missionaries
are helping him so much!
Its quite a miracle
because of Colin testifying. Colin has been struggling to feel like he
can be a disciple of Christ. And because of that, he hasnt wanted to set
a date for Baptism yet. He wants to be baptized, but he doesnt know if
he is ready yet. After this lesson we explained to Colin that because he
was bearing witness of Jesus Christ, keeping the commandments, and
remembering him, that he was ready! It helped him to realize that he is
ready! So now he is praying about a date for Baptism!
Elijah:
After a lesson we had at the church, the 3 of us were in our car about
to leave when Elijah asked us to roll down our window to talk with him.
He was clearly homeless and seemed to be acting drunk, but the 3 of us
recieved no warning from the Holy Ghost, so we got out of the car and
talked to him!
We had a wonderful talk with
Elijah. He was actually not drunk, but Bi-Polar. He was very wary to
talk with us and was a strange fellow. But we had a great discussion
about Jesus Christ with him! He is still finding his way around
religion, but we had a good conversation with him!
Sacrament
Meeting Talk: This week, last minute, I was asked to give a talk in
Sacrament Meeting. I had no time to write anything down, so I was super
stressed. I usually write down word for word for my talk, so it was
stressful to get to the podium to speak. However, when I got up, I had
courage, I was comfortable, and I was able to teach from the podium! I
have never been able to do that in the past! God definitely blessed me
with strength to do that. My companions even said I looked very
comfortable at the podium, and taught well! Just a little miracle, but
still a miracle nonetheless!
God is good! It's
been an eventful week, and there were many miracles! I am so grateful
for the opportunity to serve here in Surrey. Surrey is blessed!
Anyways, yall have a wonderful week! Enjoy spring as it lasts(minus the allergies)!
Take care yall!
