Nearly Breaking Your Foot... Is a Good Thing?

Wow, what a few weeks it has been. I apologize for not emailing last week. You'll know why in a second.

But anyways, here's what happened in the last 2 weeks:

Highlights:

-It has been absolutely beautiful here in Victoria. Spring in full bloom, and nothing but Sun! The seasonal depression has definitely gone away haha.

-Things are all scheduled and put together for Tyler's baptism this upcoming Sunday! I am so excited for him!

-Extended Exchange with Elder Morby! Lots of pretty cool Miracles!

Lowlights:

-Still struggling with Elder Jung. But working through it.

-Nearly broke my foot.

Okay, so here's the big thing that happened this last week. We played basketball on P-day with some Elders and Sisters in the Zone(I didn't know we aren't supposed to do that anymore), and while playing, an Elder accidentally crushed my right foot. The adrenaline kicked in and I was fine for a few hours. But after, it swelled and hurt pretty bad. It got to the point that I couldn't walk or drive. So I called the mission nurse, and discribed the injury. She told me to immediately get an X-ray.

Now Canada is notorious when it comes to the emergency room. Because of the healthcare program or whatever, it takes a really long time to see a doctor. Needless to say I spent about 10 hours in the Emergency Room. X-rays came back clear, and they told me if it wasn't doing good in a few days to come back for a CT Scan. I got home at 3:30am that morning. Quite the night.

The hardest part however, was Elder Jung. About 2 hours in, he had a mental breakdown being in the emergency room. I tried helping him the best I could, but eventually called the Zone Leaders and the Mission President. We went on an emergency exchange that night, so Elder Jung could go home. He was pretty shaken up for a few days. Felt really bad for him.

However, many Miracles came from this event:

1. I had some really great conversations with people at the hospital. One guy named James, I talked to for almost an hour. Wasn't interested, but definitely a planted seed.

2. Since I have been struggling working with Elder Jung for 11 weeks now, having a 3 day exchange with the Zone Leaders was such a great boost of energy. I was able to refocus and see Miracles. It's been a rough 2 transfers, but to actually see some Miracles was super helpful for me.

3. My foot healed ridiculously fast. I was fully walking within 24 hours of getting out of the hospital. For a potentially broken foot, that is incredible. All pain is now gone, and it feels completely fine.

Yeah, it's been a week.

Exchange Miracles with Elder Morby:

-Met a cool guy named Alfie at Mount Douglas. Taught him the Restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. We hope to meet with him again soon!

-Met a guy named Ed who had previously met with the missionaries! He knows the Bishop in Victoria 1st Ward really well, so we are hoping to start teaching him too!

-Taught someone named Jane for 45 minutes at a dock about the Restoration and even a bit of the Plan of Salvation! She was super reluctant to meeting, but joyfully took a Book of Mormon!

Anyways, that's pretty much it for the week! Here's a little spiritual thought:

This upcoming Sunday is Palm Sunday, and the following week is Holy Week. Our modern Prophet and Apostles have encouraged us to celebrate Easter more fully and more sacredly than we previously have done. So my question for you all is: What are you going to do this Easter Season to more celebrate the infinite Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ? Feel free to email me back, I would love to hear what you all are going to do!

Anyways, have a great week y'all! The Lord is going to bring many Miracles into your lives!

Haawa!
