Hello everyone! Another week has passed, and a ton has happened since then. But here are the goods and bads:
Goods:
- We went on a super cool hike to a waterfall.
- Sleepover in Kelowna with the Zone leaders.
- Zone conference!
- Chase-Falkland Road(but this time we didn't get lost haha)
- The scenery in and around Kamloops.
- Volleyball and Game night!
- Bruno Mars singalong.
Bads:
-They
needed me to accompany on the piano for a Sister in Zone conference,
with about 3 hours notice. Thankfully it went pretty well.
-Almost ran over a turtle on the way to a member meal.
-Still don't like pulling weeds...
-Why are there so many grasshoppers everywhere here?!
Anyways,
it was an eventful week. But it was great! Lots of amazing scenery and
fun playing sports with the community. I am getting better at talking to
people, but I am still a little nervous. Haha I know I'll someday
figure it out. I hope so at least.
On
Tuesday we had Zone Conference. It was a ton of fun meeting with the
other missionaries inthe Vernon zone. It was also nice to see the APs
and President and Sister Gill again. Even though I only saw them about a
week earlier. My favorite part of zone conference was probably the zone
leaders, they are so funny and just great people to hang out with.
On
our way back from Zone Conference in Kelowna, we decided to take
another attempt at the Chase-Falkland road. This time though, we didn't
get lost and the scenery was AMAZING. The trees are starting to change
color, it's starting to get cooler, and at the end of the road we got an
incredible view of forest with the sunset. Well worth it.
The
people here are AMAZING. We did service for this one lady, and she fed
us lunch, baked us a cake, and gave us a ton of cucumbers and tomatoes
to take home. We also had a old single adult activity on Saturday where
we spent over 3 hours playing uno and Yatzee with people. It was so much
fun. Then, they gave us so much food, our refrigerator is stuffed to
the brim with Costco sandwiches, Veggies, and leftover Mac and cheese
haha.
Probably one of my favorite
moments from this week was Saturday night. We were coming back from the
church, and me and my companion Elder Achal were singing Bruno Mars and
the top of our lungs with the windows rolled down. Haha it was so much
fun, and clearly, I still can't sing haha.
The
work here in Kamloops is going pretty good. We had 2 people come to
church yesterday, and we had a lesson with one of them as well. I am
getting much more comfortable talking to people, but there is still a
lot more I need to improve on. Everyone here is so spiritual and kind,
they are just amazing.
Also
everywhere I go there are so many grasshoppers and its so confusing and
funny, but not when they jump and hit you in the face haha.
1. The waterfall we hiked to on P-Day.
2. A cave we found on the same hike, doesn't it kinda look like Jesus's Tomb??
3. The sunset view at the end of the Chase-Falkland road.
4. A killer view on the way back from a member meal.
5. Me in the middle of a road looking weird like usual haha.
6. A sunset view over Kamloops after some street contacting.
