Hello everyone! This has been an exciting week! Hopefully everyone has had a good start to the new year! Here's what happened this week:
Highlights:
- Zone P-day in Nanaimo!
- Madi passed her Baptismal Interview and her Baptism will be on Sunday!🥳 We are both so excited for her!
-We
had a zoom Bible study(more of a debate about whether the Book Of
Mormon is the word of God or not)with Missionaries from the Canada
Toronto Mission! It was with 2 other Christians.
- Homemade Hamburgers for Dinner!🍔
- We met our new friend Fred who is SOO elect!
-
Elder Bednar told President Gill this week that we are doing a really
good job running the Mission Facebook Page. So that was pretty cool!
Lowlights:
- Lots of Service in the Rain :(
Zone
P-day: We had P-day in Nanaimo with the whole zone! We had chili-dogs
for lunch, did a white elephant exchange where I got some pretty dope
socks with llamas on them haha. We also did some 'Minute to Win it'
games that were super fun! It was great to see everyone in the zone
since we werent able to go to zone conference!
Bible
Study: Someone from Oshawa, Ontario messaged us to do a Bible study,
so we did one, and had the missionaries from Oshawa join us! The other
missionaries are amazing with such strong testimonies! It was
interesting cause the other two Christians who wanted to do the Bible
study turned it into a debate betweem our beliefs. It was a friendly
debate, not super bashy, but was interesting to see another Christian
faith that believes in modern prophets. Thats a first.
Fred:
Fred is SOO elect. We were getting breakfast at McDonald's, and we were
waiting for our food when Fred came to us and asked us why we have
nametags. This started a small discussion on religion and he was quoting
the bible left and right, but was telling us about wha he has learned
from the bible. We talked for a few minutes before he abruptly said
goodbye and sat down to eat his food. So me and Elder Walcer left, as we
drove away, we decided to turn around and offer Fred a Book Of Mormon.
We found him sitting down and he was enthusiastic to talk more about the
gospel! We talked for about an hour about the gospel, and we even
quoted from the Book Of Mormon, and he agreed with the verses! They fit
his beliefs perfectly.
Fred told us he had
learned to contantly rely on the Spirit in his life and it has helped
him so much and brought him so much peace and joy. Whats absolutely
crazy is, we introduced the Book Of Mormon to him, and were about to
share a scripture with him when he grabbed the book from across the
table, read ONE verse, handed it back and told us that from what the
spirit just told him that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God.
He
just needed to read one verse to know it is the word of God. He told us
he was excited to read the book and would immediately start reading it!
What
a miracle! We hadnt found anyone remotely interested since Madi! God
really does prepare those who are ready to hear of His gospel! I am
excited to begin teaching Fred!
Anyways, thats all for this week! Hope everyone has an amazing week! I keep yall in my prayers!
