Hey everyone! This week absolutely flew by! Not a whole lot happened, but here's what happened:
Highlights:
-We
turned into a trio. An Elder in our Zone got his Visa to Chile so his
companion Elder Hulse is with us for week! It's been a lot of fun. It is
funny though, both him and Elder Hirst are Spanish Speaking so at times
they will fully be speaking Spanish and I'm just the clueless English
speaking Elder haha. It's been fun! We even worked with Elder Galay
again for a few days so we were a Quad. It was a lot of fun!
-We
had interviews with our mission president! It was really brief, but
really good. Definitely looking forward to these last few weeks!
-With
us in a trio, it also means that we temporarily cover a 2nd area as
well, so we've been super busy. But we've seen some cool Miracles! I may
not speak Spanish, but it's cool to see how Spanish work looks like!
-We had 3 member meals this week, for a YSA that's incredible!
-On
Sunday I got to say goodbye to Elder Salmon, he returns home this week.
It was a sad goodbye, but I'll get to see him again eventually. We got
to trade ties too so that was pretty sweet.
-On Sunday we got
to go to Vancouver again for yet another Baptismal Interview! Its been
cool to see Vancouver a bit more, I haven't really spent much time
there. I also got to see Elder Livingston again which was pretty sweet!
-For
weekly planning this week, we were praying for where to go do it, and
we felt inspired to go to the Chilliwack airport. It was super random,
but we heeded the prompting. I'll be honest, I think Haida Gwaii had a
bigger airport, it was super tiny, but we found a place to do our
planning. After we finished we were about to leave, and we ran into an
inactive member. She was shocked that missionaries were at an airport.
However, we had a really good discussion with her, and the Spirit was
very strong. It was a pretty cool experience.
Anyways, for the spiritual thought this week I'll keep it brief:
I've
been thinking a lot about the power of prayer, and how it can help us
connect with God personally, but also together. This week I studied
President Holland's most recent talk and I had a few thoughts from my
read:
1. Prayers are always heard. Even when we
feel like they aren't being answered, they are heard, and they are
answered according to the Gods will.
2. God knows the perfect
way to answer our prayers. It may not be answered the way we want it
too, but it will be answered in the perfect way for us to grow and
become more like our Heavenly Father.
3. Even when we feel
like we can do everything on our own, we can't. We need God in our
lives. And when we have that humility, we can always see his hand in our
lives!
Prayer is so special. I know it has
helped me throughout my life. It is constantly solidifying my testimony,
and helps to bring me closer to God.
I invite
you all to ponder on how you can more access the power that comes
through prayer, in whatever form that may be. I promise as you do so
that you will be able to see the power of prayer more visibly and more
powerfully in your life!
Anyways, that's all I
got this week! We will get transfer news on Thursday, so we will see
what will happen for my last transfer! Have a great week everyone!
