Hey everyone! Sorry for missing last week. So much has happened, so buckle up this is going to be a long one.
Highlights:
Transfers: So, last time I sent an email, I was in the middle of being transferred over to Langley(Fraser Valley YSA). It was a long day, but it was great! I was in a trio with Elder Salmon and Elder Heath for the night, so that was legendary.
Running it back: It has been so much fun being with Elder Salmon again. We have been working so hard the last few weeks and we are seeing so many Miracles because of it. The YSA here has 3 Baptisms in the next 3 weeks. 2 of them are our friends. We have been grinding! Expecially since the last 3 transfers I have had super difficult companions, it has really been a push of motivation being with Elder Salmon and in Fraser Valley YSA.
Transfer Travel: Welcome to the YSA! Since I got transferred early because of MLC, that meant I had to help plan out transfer travel for the whole Abbotsford Zone. It was busy. We were driving and helping transfer missionaries from 8:30am to 6:15pm. Quite a few complications came up with vehicles, phones, and some missionaries, but God is so good and each obstacle was fixed and worked out fantastic! A long day of driving, but still awesome!
Bob Ross Night: A great welcome to the YSA was a fun Bob Ross painting night. Lots of fun, and it definitely showed me how horrible of a painter I am haha. But I'll put the picture of the final painting down below.
Temple: Since we live in Langley, we live 5 minutes away from the Vancouver Temple. So we see it everyday. It's awesome! We have even been able to go a few times already, and just to testify along with President Nelson, power truly comes from attending the Temple!
MLC: I got to go to MLC again! I missed going, and just like every other time, it's such a spiritual experience. The spirit just floods the room every time we Council together! Good to also see missionaries I hadn't seen in a long time! It was also the first time me, Elder Salmon, and Elder Walcer were at MLC at the same time! Don't worry we totally snagged a picture haha.
Teaching: We don't have a lot of friends we are teaching right now in the YSA, but the ones we are teaching are elect! 2 are on Baptismal Date and another expressed he wants to be Baptized as well! God is blessing the YSA! Here are some Miracles we have seen with our friends so far:
-Ethan: At MLC, both me and Elder Salmon felt prompted that we needed to invite him to be Baptized that night when we had a lesson with him. I had never met Ethan yet, but he was so ready. The lesson went perfect, and he is getting Baptized in 2 weeks!
-Bryce: We met Bryce when he came to church on Easter Sunday! We have had a lot of lessons with him since, and we even watched the Sunday evening session of General Conference with him! And he loved it! Excited to keep working with him!
The YSA: The YSA are legendary here! I already knew quite a few of them from when I served in Surrey, so it has been good to see them again! We have lots of activities in the YSA, so we stay pretty busy! Also we have institute 2 times a week so we get a free meal each time so that's legendary.
The area: Our area is MASSIVE. We cover about 66 percent of the Lower Mainland(The Greater Vancouver Area) so we cover the major cities Surrey, Delta, White Rock, Langley, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, and Chiliwack. It's massive, but it means we get to see so much of the mission! Over the last few weeks we have been able to see most of our area, so that's been great!
Back in Surrey: Since I've been here, we have been able to work in Surrey again! It's been awesome working there again, I've even been able to see quite a few members from Surrey 1st! It's been awesome!
Temple with Ben: Ben is a new member in the YSA, and we go permission to do Baptisms with him in the temple for his first time! It was awesome! Such a great experience!
General Conference: General Conference was absolutely incredible! So many inspired talks and so much Revelation! I expecially loved these talks: President Holland, Elder Uchtdorf, Elder Stevenson, and of course, President Nelson. I expecially loved the focus on integrity and faith. Both very important Christlike attributes that we can always focus on!
Temple in Victoria: Talk about exciting news! Totally didn't see a temple get announced in Victoria! Needless to say everyone is freaking out up here in BC, it's the 2nd one in the province.
Well, that's all for this week! The work is going great up here! Everyone have a great week!
