Hey everyone! This week was fantastic! We saw so many miracles and it was honestly a ton of fun! Here's what happened:
Highlights:
-We
found this cool little town in our area I hadn't been to yet called
Fort Langley. We walked around and had some great conversations! It
reminded me a bit of downtown St. George, just much greener!
-Here's
one thing we did this week that was a bit stupid not gonna lie. We had a
lesson in Surrey, and we are driving back to Langley which was about a
20min drive. We were on a phone call with some Sisters when a guy honks
at us and tells us that one of our tires is super flat. So we pull over
and sure enough it looks pretty deflated. We weren't sure if it was just
low tire pressure or a leak so we took it to a tire place. When we got
there they told us they could get us in in 2 & 1/2 hours. So guess
what we did? We drove on the potentially leaky tire back to Langley, ate
lunch, and drove back to the shop. We found out after that we had a
screw in the tire and it was a pretty good leak. God really helped us
out there. Was it the best idea? Probably not.
-While our car
was getting fixed we walked around Surrey a bit. As we were walking
around we noticed a lot of people had 7/11 slurpees. We were a bit
confused, but kept walking. Eventually we remembered it was July 11th
and we rushed to the closest 7/11 for a free slurpee. It was a pretty
hot day so it made us very happy.
-Another day we went to
Coquitlam to do some finding, and the second we left our car, this guy
rushes up to us and is like "Elders, Elders, we gotta meet up sometime".
So we said sure and set up a lesson the following day with him. But
before we left he said "Any friend of Jesus is a friend of mine" and
gave us each a hug. It was kinda wierd but funny too. The next day we
met him at the mall, and it was a wild lesson. We were pretty sure he
was high the whole time and he called us handsome about 40 times. But we
shared a short message and passed him off to the Coquitlam Elders. It
was an interesting experience, but pretty cool.
-Satya's
Baptism! It was such a spiritual Baptism! His brother from
California(Who's a member) was even able to come! Seriously I've never
seen Satya happier. We also got most the YSA to come as well(It helped
that we did the Baptism right after church).
Spiritual thought:
Me
and Elder Smith listed to a great general conference talk this week. It
was called Return and Recieve by President Ballard. It talks about the
importance of goals and plans. I have definitely seen the importance of
goal setting and planning on my mission. It really helps for the work to
happen and to happen efficiently. But I wanted to invite each of you to
read or listen to this talk and see what the Lord teaches you!
Anyways, that's all for this week! Have a great week everyone!
