Hey everyone! Not too much to update on this week, but here are some pretty cool things that happened:
Highlights:
-Last
Zone Conference! It was great! We really focused on the power of the
Book of Mormon, and it's role in personal conversion! It was fun to see
missionaries I hadn't seen in awhile!
-We went to the White
Rock Pier on Friday! It was very sunny day so it was nice to feel the
ocean breeze! We had a cool conversation with a guy from Korea! Elder
Smith had been to Korea before so they got along great!
-We got to go to the Temple with Emmanuel! It was an amazing experience! He loved it! It's been so cool to see his journey!
-On Sunday our new friend Bobby came to church! He's super cool and he had a great time!
-Yesterday
we were walking around downtown Langley, and we came to a traffic
light. We pressed the walk sign a few times but it didn't change.
However, after a few minutes of trying, a guy came up to cross the
street as well. He said that he takes this route everyday, and it's
never been broken before. We had a great conversation with him, and he
cheerfully took a Book of Mormon and our phone number! Guess the traffic
light needed to break for a reason haha.
-I got to see an
old friend from home this week! Caleb came to Vancouver to check out the
Temple and we were able to run into each other while he was here!
Anyways that's pretty much all for this week!
Spiritual Thought:
At
Zone Conference, President and Sister Gill invited us all to restart
the Book of Mormon, and highlight all the times we see Christ. They
invited us to finish the Book of Mormon by December 23rd. However, with
me only having 3 weeks left(And probably a little over-zealous) decided
to not finish by December 23rd, but to finish by July 31st. So I have
been able to read the Book of Mormon every time I have a spare moment.
It has been a lot of reading, but I am just amazed at how much it
mentions or describes Christ! I'm only at Enos, but I feel like I've
seen over a thousand times Christ is mentioned or described. It just
reaffirmed to me that the Book of Mormon is really a testament of Jesus
Christ! I've been able to learn more about the Savior as I have been
more focused on him as I have read the Book of Mormon this time around.
So
I would like to extend this invitation to all of you! You don't have to
restart, but as you read the Book of Mormon this year(you don't have to
finish in 3 weeks like me), focus on Christ! He is everywhere, and only
through him, we can have the hope, joy, and growth the Gospel of Jesus
Christ brings! I promise that as you do this, that you will get to know
your Savior better, and you will grow closer to him!
